Hygiene and Sterilization
At Exquisite Smiles, we prioritize the health and safety of our patients and staff by adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and sterilization in our dental practice. Understanding the importance of a clean and safe environment, we implement meticulous sterilization protocols to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.
Our dental team employs a variety of sterilization methods to ensure that every instrument and surface is free from harmful pathogens. We utilize autoclaving, a process where instruments are exposed to high-pressure saturated steam at a specific temperature for a precise period, effectively eliminating all forms of microbial life. For non-heat-resistant instruments, we employ chemical sterilization using potent disinfectants and chemical solutions. Additionally, we incorporate ultraviolet (UV) light sterilization to disinfect surfaces and purify the air in our dental operatory.
By maintaining strict sterilization standards, Exquisite Smiles is committed to providing a hygienic and safe environment for our patients and staff. Meet the Doctor
Dr. Steven Alexander
A smile is a reflection of a person’s identity. A smile can lift a person’s spirit when they are down. It is with this understanding that helped direct Dr. Steven Alexander to the field of dentistry. Dr. Steven, a 1993 graduate from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, has had a lot of experience as a dental patient. When he was ten years old, he had a skiing accident fracturing his four front teeth, requiring major dental work over the next few years. Despite all of this, he always enjoyed seeing a dentist. Dr. Steven’s father’s friend, Dr. Al, happened to be a dentist. His positive experience led him to shadow Dr. Al, where he saw how much enjoyment they had while working. Dr. Steven realized how they touched people’s lives, which changed him forever. In the seventh grade, Dr. Steven knew he wanted to be a dentist!
Dr. Steven is passionate about helping patients to improve their smiles functionally and esthetically, as well as improving their overall health.
When not working, Dr. Steven enjoys spending time with his family, long walks at Memorial Park, outdoor concerts, theater, and visiting as many culturally-diverse restaurants that Houston has to offer.
